Team ALL STAFF claimed the championship trophy after going undefeated through the entire season. The two student teams – DKU VOLLEYBALL and ACE SETTERS, won second and third respectively. Consisting of staff members from across campus, Team ALL STAFF recruited from offices such as student affairs, career services, academic advising, and undergraduate studies. Chaoran Han, the captain of ALL STAFF, was an avid volleyball player during her college days and was the first to initiate a team of staff volleyball players. Determined to send a message to her teammates, she even played through an ankle injury. “My ankle brace should be here by next game”, said Han while she was getting ready for the 2nd game of the season. During the season, in addition to the scheduled games, Han would also organize weekly practice sessions that are open to anyone who would like to work on their volleyball skills.

Being the captain and the only male player on ACE SETTERS, Bo Chen wanted to make sure that the team takes full advantage of what they do best – setting. During games, Chen told his teammates to focus on one possession at a time, and most importantly, to have fun. One of the staff members commented on ACE SETTERS, “Despite the team had to battle with the challenge of not having any backup players, they also seemed to have the most fun.” Asked about why he thinks that was, Chen responded, “we win as a team, and we lose as a team.”
