Open fitness classes are offered daily for free to all members and are a great way for DKU community members to do a quick workout, de-stress, and try various activities. Although registration is not required and can be on a first come, first serve basis, we encourage you to register for a class to secure your spot. You can register on the day of the class. Spinning and rowing classes are high energy, low-impact activities that combine cardio, strength training, and rhythm-based group spinning and rowing. Whether you’re new to these activities or an experienced pro, our classes are designed to elevate your fitness level and keep you motivated and engaged for a full workout. Personal training lessons are in-house sessions available to all members. All our trainers are internationally certified and provide a bilingual service in English and Chinese. As part of the personal training package, members will receive a free InBody body composition analysis and free consultation. Sessions consist of 45 minutes of training and 15 minutes of recovery stretching, massage, and rolling. More information on rates and hours will be available soon.
Whether you want to learn how to box, improve your boxing skills, get in shape, de-stress, or simply boost your energy level, you can achieve your goals with boxing. Whether you’re a serious athlete or not, regular stretch therapy increases joint and muscle mobility and flexibility, which improves posture and general body mechanics. Rehabilitation exercises are designed to target the causes of general musculoskeletal pains we face every day. Whether you are a recreational runner with joint pain, or spending too much time sitting at a computer leading to back pain and bad posture. Through rehabilitation and recovery training, our trainers aim to identify causes of pain and prescribe exercises that strengthen specific musculoskeletal areas for a long term solution with a long term goal of pain free activities of daily living. Sport massage is not your typical massage. It is focused and systematic, targeting muscles that are used in a specific sport or activity, and uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain and improve recovery. It also improves overall range of motion and flexibility to support safe and effective movement.
A sports massage therapist can assist with training, rehabilitation, and pre- or post-performance goals. But don’t let the word “sport” deter you from trying this experience. Although it is used largely by elite and amateur athletes, sports massage can also be beneficial for anyone who regularly exercises. More information on rates and hours will be available soon.
DKU Athletics has been renting bikes to the DKU community for past five years. GreenStar has donated 20 bamboo bikes to DKU, and they continue to be one of the best ways for students to explore Kunshan. Simply visit our Front Desk and ask to rent a bike for a day for free. To book a bike, please send an email to sports@dukekunshan.edu.cn with rental details.
Once our swimming pool opens, personal swimming lessons will be available for beginners and for those looking to improve their skills. Swim lessons will be offered either as individual, small groups, and general classes. More information on rates and hours will be available soon.
Located in the Sports Complex lobby, the climbing wall is more than 30 meters high and features four top rope climbing lanes and bouldering area. It’s a great place for beginners to learn, experienced climbers to train, and for meeting people who share a similar interest. Belay classes will also be offered at select times. Climbing wall services will be gradually introduced throughout the fall semester. More information to follow soon.
