DKU Claims National Title at 12th Chinese University Skiing Championships

DKU Student-Athlete Claims National Title at the 12th Chinese University  Skiing Championships (Finals)

On January 20, at the 12th Chinese University Skiing Championships (Finals), DKU Student-Athlete Zihan Zhou  ’29, wins the National Championship in the Men’s Alpine Giant Slalom Elite Group. As a result of this performance, Zhou is now in contention to represent China at the 2027 Winter World University Games, scheduled to be held in Changchun.

DKU and DKU Athletics will continue to fully support the student-athletes in preparing for higher-level competitions while fostering their growth as both scholars and athletes.

Hosted by the Chinese Student Sports Federation (CSSF), the championship is one of the highest-level collegiate winter sports competitions in China. The finals attracted more than 300 student athletes from 60 universities nationwide. Zihan Zhou’s victory marks the first national championship for DKU in an official CSSF event, fully demonstrating his outstanding abilities as a DKU student athlete.

Zhou delivered a composed and technically sound two-run performance, posting times of 22.45 seconds and 24.23 seconds for a combined total of 46.68 seconds, finishing 1.06 seconds ahead of the runner-up
