After more than a month of group phase competition, DKU Men’s Football Varsity Team demonstrated outstanding performance — 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss with 13 points, successfully finishing 2nd place in Group B and advancing to the Super Group Playoff of the 2nd Suzhou College Football League (SCFL)! The first playoff game is set to play on March 7 in Suzhou Institute of Trade and Commerce.

The top two teams from each of the four groups have advanced to the Super Group Playoffs. The final rankings will be determined after round-robin matchups between 8 teams in March to April.

In the final group-phase match on December 11th, DKU men’s varsity achieved a 11-0 victory. This remarkable win not only broke the goal record in the Suzhou College Football League but also secured their 2nd place standing in the group advancing to the Super Group Playoffs.
So far, among the top 10 scorers in the league, DKU secured three spots: Maxwell ranked second with an impressive 9 goals in 7 matches, Ricardo Vargas netted 5 goals, and Shukrulloh Khusanov contributed 4 goals.

Additionally, Christopher Kelly stood out in the overall performance rankings. Based on metrics combining total distance covered, high-intensity runs, passes completed, interceptions, top speed, and goals scored, he ranked third among over 300 players. This accomplishment reflects not only his personal dedication and skills but also the collective spirit and support of the varsity. DKU Football Varsity’s Head Coach, Aleksandar Tomic, is looking forward to the journey ahead: “Our next objective is the preparatory period for the Suzhou College Football League, as well as for the Sino-Foreign University Cup final leg, which will take place on March 22 and 23 in DKU.”
