Wuhan, China – October 24
The afternoon of October 24 saw a lively atmosphere in the table tennis hall of the Zhuo’er Gymnasium at Wuhan University, as the Duke Kunshan University (DKU) Table Tennis Varsity visited for a friendly exchange match. The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Li Xiaoshu, Assistant to the President of DKU; Zarko,DKU Athletics Director; Hu Jiming, Secretary of the Sports Department of Wuhan University; Qin Yinyin, Deputy Director of the Sports Department; Li Bingfang, Coach of the DKU Table Tennis Team; and Chen Chang, Coach of Wuhan University’s Sunshine Table Tennis Team. Together, they celebrated a sports event symbolizing friendship and collaboration between the two universities.

The ceremony was hosted by Deputy Director Qin Yinyin of Wuhan University’s Sports Department. On behalf of Wuhan University, Secretary Hu Jiming extended a warm welcome to the DKU delegation. He noted that table tennis, China’s national sport, represents perseverance, precision, and the spirit of striving for excellence. This exchange, he said, is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity for cultural connection and friendship between the two institutions. Hu expressed hope that athletes from both universities would compete with skill, grace, and camaraderie, creating a new chapter of cooperation and friendship.
The opening ceremony began in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Assistant to the President Li Xiaoshu and Director Zarko from DKU were invited to the stage, joining Secretary Hu Jiming in a friendly opening rally. The light-hearted match drew waves of laughter and applause, highlighting the joyful spirit of sportsmanship shared between the two universities.

Following the ceremony, the teams immediately engaged in a series of intense yet friendly matches. At the tables, players demonstrated impressive skill and focus, drawing rounds of applause from the audience with each thrilling rally. Regardless of the outcome, both sides displayed excellent sportsmanship and embodied the event’s spirit of “friendship through competition and progress through exchange.”
